Purpose
Colliac Calculator® is a simulator of the dioptrics of the eye. It is useful for the ophthalmologist, the optometrist, the researcher or the student in optics. It was created to facilitate the understanding of the optics of the eye and its correction by surgery, spectacles or contact lenses. The two main kinds of surgical correction of ametropia are :
Today, the accuracy of the biometric measurements allows to improve predictability of the surgical correction of ametropia. Postoperative results more frequently achieve the calculated and expected surgical corrections. Our analytic method derives from the spherical Gaussian optics or paraxial approximation. The equations of the algorythms have been written with the help of matrix calculation. For this reason, they are called matrix formulas or Colliac formulas®. These formulas were published in the 1990s. Each formula comes with a figure of the eye whose size is at scale. These figures are interactive with the biometric data. To calculate the surgicaly induced astigmatism (SIA) and the mean of the SIA, the vector method is the more straightforward method to analyse the magnitude and the direction of the astigmatism.
How to use the Colliac Calculator®
Step 1 : In the main menu or of the Colliac Calculator® Click on your topic. Step 2 : In the sub-menu of the left side of the page Click on your subject. Step 3 : On this page, Enter your Data. Step 4 : Then Click on and you get the Results with graphics at scale.
